A lot of readers are eagerly awaiting the release of the new Uwell Caliburn G Pod Kit and I am lucky enough to be reviewed.

Okay, the original set the standard for the pod kit and many say it still does.

Our Michelle liked it exactly as you can see from her review.

So the new version definitely has some big shoes to say the least.

After the success of the original Caliburn, Uwell released the Cocoa Pod Kit that Kevin aka The Worthing Vaper liked, but felt that it needed more power.

Uwell is certainly known for its amazing tank and vape kit, including the Crown 4 and the Valerian II – and who can forget the Emulate Pod Watch lol.

What can we expect from Uwell Caliburn G

This is a top fill pod kit with swappable coils – in this case a DTL 0.8 ohm mesh and a regular MTL 1.0ohm.

The kit is powered by an internal 690mAh battery and has Type C charging.

The way you put the pod on the battery by swapping means that you can also change the airflow – later.

X6 has a choice of colors: Blue – Red – Gray – Rosie Brown – Green and Black.

Okay, the kits were sent directly to me from Uwell – thank you – and as always free does not speak my thoughts and ideas.

So let’s see if Zee stands for greatness …

Design and Build Quality

It is not certain that from what the main body is composed of, it is inferred that it is zinc alloy – yet lighter.

The pod naps in and out nicely with a satisfying click, although the drip tip is a tight tight fit – more on that later.

I really like the design – it’s got a kind of art deco and the gold ring around the fire button only adds what is a very beautiful look.

The ridges not only add a nice design feature, but also give the device a good grip – it can’t slip through your hand.

The Caliburn logo is on the front of the device and again it is actually very elegant.

Uvel Caliburn G Pod Kit Quick Start Guide

  • x5 click lock and unlock
  • Fire button or breathing for breathing
  • Remove drip tip to fill through red grommet
  • Remove / Swap the coil through the base of the pod

Uvel Caliburn G Pod Filling Kit

First method of filling…

This is a bagger for closing the drip tip and it’s not just me saying that. I gave an extra kit to a friend of mine and he was really struggling to knock it off.

Once filled there is a doddle with a good silicone seal filler port.

The pod is crystal clear so you have no problem seeing the juice levels.

Snapping on the mouth can also be a little painful – yet I think I am better at being fed up with leaks.

Uvel Caliburn G Pod Kit Airflow

There is dual airflow and it is simple yet simple!

There is a small airflow hole at the base of the pod.

If you snap the pod on the battery and align it with an equally small airflow hole – you’ll get the maximum amount of air.

Apparently pop the pod with holes that don’t align, and you’ll get a more restricted wipe.

I see how effective it is.

Uvel Caliburn G Pod Kit 0.8ohm Mesh Coil

I started with a 0.8 ohm mesh coil and after priming it for 5 minutes – took a wipe with the airflow wide open.

It’s a pretty loose DTL vape and the taste is amazing – wow really.

I say on a 1:10 scale that 10 is very windy, it is about 8 to 8.5.

The coil swapping and waft around was even more flamboyant, with a slight restriction really making the flavor pop.

Using the same scale I say it was 7 to 7.5 – still windy but that taste!

Uvel Caliburn G Pod Kit 1.0ohm Coil

I had a sent pod then was able to just fill up and switch.

Again I started with airflow at its most open position.

A certain loose MTL vape with a fair amount of restriction – probably too tight for my tired old lungs.

Going in a tight setting and yes – this is definitely a ‘proper MTL vape’.

As for the taste?

On both settings it is quite off the scale … a wonderful vape with coil and none of the airflow settings.

Praise!

The pros

  • MTL and DTL coils included
  • Fire button or breathing
  • Fast charging
  • Long battery life – full day on one charge
  • Amazing taste
  • Nice clouds
  • Fill the top
  • No leaks

Final review verdict

I am impressed – very impressed.

The design is simple yet elegant – tough yet lightweight.

Yes, you can say that I think it is a bit functional – but it is definitely one of the better ‘look’ as a pod kit.

The drip tip coming in and descending in that top cap can be a pain, but I believe it should be a little scratchy.

If the original Caliburn was good – the new Uvel Caliburn G Pod Kit is very special indeed.

Absolutely incredible taste and then some – very highly recommended …

So … is this on your vaping wish list?
