Your kitchen is a place where all your food-related wants and needs should be kept. Therefore, it’s expected to find in it food items, condiments, and affordable kitchen appliances in the Philippines or anywhere else in the world.
And if some things are permitted or even recommended to be placed in the kitchen, there are also those that shouldn’t. After all, it is where food is prepared, so it should be clean, have as much space as possible, and only store things that don’t do any harm or cause your meal to taste awful.
To avoid any untoward happenings in both your kitchen and your food, here are a few examples.
A Pre-filled Spice Collection
Without spices, it’s very hard to give food a special taste. However, buying a spice rack won’t help you as much, as spices that have been stored for a long time are no longer fresh, which means it doesn’t give as much flavor as they used to.
Therefore, even though it seems a lot more tedious, it’s better to buy individual fresh spices. And as much as possible, try to buy only when you have to, as what has been said before, stocked spices lose their flavor.

Opaque Food Containers
It’s hard to imagine a life without food containers. Although sometimes, just like anything that is hidden away, they tend to be forgotten. And if transparent and translucent food containers can be kept away and be left in the depths of oblivion, then opaque ones are much more likely to suffer the same fate because it’s harder to remember what’s inside of them.
To easily keep track of your foodstuffs, either you use food containers whose contents can be seen from the outside, or put a label on them, and then stack them in one rack so you’ll know where to look. When having little children banning certain foods is quite hard, but if you replace those certain foods. It can be a lot easier, why not buying some organic Japanese tofu.

To people who either love or have to cook, non-stick cookware are a godsend, as they make sure that the food – especially friends ones – remain intact. And as lovely bonuses, it’s super-easy to clean the oils that stick on its surface, not to mention that it requires you less fats whenever you have to fry.
However, this too-good-to-be-true kitchenware does indeed have a flaw – one that is detrimental to the health. If heated beyond 500°F, non-stick kitchenware begins emitting toxic fumes, which can cause flu-like symptoms in people and can prove lethal to birds.
Instead of these wonders, stick to good old stainless steel frying pans. While food sticks a bit to it, it’s definitely much better than inhaling deadly vapors.

Nothing beats toast, especially in the morning. However, no matter how much of a fan of toast you may be, it’s time to get rid of pop-up toasters, or better yet, not buy one at all.
While the popping-up of toasted bread never loses the amusement it gives off, it’s neither worth your money nor hygienic. Instead, go for a toaster oven, as it can toast and cook things other than bread. In addition, mice tend to climb pop-up toasters in search of breadcrumbs.

It’s cheap to keep the same kitchen sponge. However, it’s definitely not a hygienic practice. According to the Center for Disease Control, sponges are sanctuaries where bacteria proliferate, as they are always moist. And while sponges can be sanitized, doing so can be a hassle.
Rather than sponges, it would be better to use cleaning rugs and brushes for washing dishes and kitchen surfaces. If you, however, can’t help but prefer these porous foams, make sure that you replace them on a regular basis, lest you spread more diseases instead of preventing them.
Follow these tips and make sure that your kitchen is free of both clutter and germs. After all, those things shouldn’t be in a place that is supposed to be full of love, and of course, good food.
