Although all of the glass materials are supposed to meet the General Product Safety Regulation of the UK, making glass table tops and other glass items secure to use. Yet, there is a possibility of glass being exploded due to a certain reason.

Any damage on the surface or edge of the glass in the form of cracks or chips can result into an explosion. This mostly happens during cutting, shipping, or installing the glass piece. 

Temperature

During the process of glass making, nickel sulphide stones are formed. As the temperature changes, especially while manufacturing toughened glass, these tiny stones can expand to a point where the glass explodes.

Avoid Harsh Surfaces

During the assembly of your table top, do not lay your glass on a rough or hard surface. Lay your glass on some cardboard or over a rug.

While moving or lifting your glass table top, ask someone to give you a helping hand. This will save you from accidental drop or being hit by a nearby object.

Clean But Mindfully
