“For a house to be successful, the objects in it must communicate with one another, respond and balance one another.”

This statement by Andrée Putman, a Fench Interior designer, sums up the entire concept of interior designing. The place should look like a balanced mix of different elements.

Often, we move out of our hometown in search of better jobs and lifestyles. Adapting to a new city is a difficult thing, and what is even more difficult? Finding an apartment for rent. Even if you find the right apartment, the real struggle is how to make it feel comfortable and homely?

Many times, you have very less options in terms of decor because of various rental rules and landlord laws. And it is not smart to spend a lot on decor in a rented apartment. Then, comes the real question how can we do the decor to make the space look comfortable and fancy.

Here are some tips that can help you amp up your rented space.

Swap the knobs.

You can simply replace the older knobs with newer different types of door knobs & levers. You can unscrew the knobs of your door, cupboards, drawers, etc., and keep them in a safe place. Before leaving the apartment, you can again replace the newer ones with older knobs and take the newer knobs with you.

Add a lot of greens.

If you are a plant lover, then this is the simplest way by which you can add a lot of sophistication to your place. Plants add a pop of color and a lot of freshness to your place. The only trick is how to keep them alive!

Play with curtains.

There are many ways by which you can style your curtains and they add so many elements to your space. You can try layering the curtains, you can add high ceiling curtains or you can simply go with bamboo blinds. All three have different significance in terms of looks.

Experiment with furnishings.

The simplest trick is to experiment with cushions, upholstery, and rugs to accentuate the look of your space. You can change your cushion covers and throw pillows every few months according to your taste and style. A rug or carpet is always a fancy option for the living area.

Install floating shelves.

Many stores have simple and easy-to-install floating shelves that can be used in homes to show off your art or book collection or to just simply store things. You can go for basic wooden shelves or you can go for shelves that are the same color as your wall.

Conclusion

There are many other ways by which you can amp up your space in a rented apartment, but these tips will surely add so much stunningness to the space.  Do not go for major abrupt changes, that hamper the structure of the place. Always remember to stick to your personal style when doing your home. The space should reflect your personality and style.
