Advantages of LED Neon light

  • In the hands of a handyman, you can make various shapes with LED neon tubes. This may include everything from street signs to fun neon signs for bars and nightclubs.
  • The light produced by the LED neon tube is more homogeneous and gentle, with no light spots or blinding effects.
  • You can select the direction of the neon tube light. This solves the limitation of bending the light strip in only one direction.
  • With a maximum temperature of around 40 degrees Celsius, neon signs don’t overheat. Neon tubes are waterproof up to IP67 and can be used for indoor and outdoor lighting.
  • Neon tubes come in various colors. You can use them for several designs.

How To Make Neon Signs

Neon signs are very popular. You can use it in restaurants, cafés, and bars to make a great first impression. You can also use them for your home or photoshoots. Here is how to make your own LED neon light signs.

What you need:

  • LED neon lights
  • Wirecutter
  • A spool of thread
  • Conductor wire
  • A substrate or base

After you’ve got everything you’ll need, it’s time to put your LED neon light sign together. Step-by-step instruction is provided below to assist you in doing so:

  1. Place your sketch of a sign on a work surface.
  2. Outline the sketch with the thread to determine the approximate length of LED neon lights you’ll require.
  3. Cut a section of the LED neon lights using the sketch. There will likely be markers on the light strip to inform you where you may cut. Remember that you can damage the lights if you cut the wrong places.
  4. Cut every time you run the length of the form or shape on the LED neon lights.
  5. Proceed the drill at the end of each strip, where it joins the next.
  6. Each time you cut, an edge of wire in the light strip is exposed, so solder the conductor wire between each piece of LED neon lights.
  7. Whenever you solder a connection, guide the soldering wire to the back of the substrate and then thread it back out at the next letter/shape. The connections at the base/substrate can be hard to see.
  8. Fix the LED neon lights in place using glue.
  9. Turn on your sign and enjoy once all sections are securely and safely linked to the power source.

While traditional hand-formed neon can be expensive, it doesn’t mean you can’t draw inspiration from expensive neon lights to create your own at a lower cost. You can use this guide to create a stunning and envious neon sign.
