A Seasonal Makeover Is On The Horizon.

Autumn is fast approaching; the crunchy leaves on the ground, brisk mornings and the occasional smell of bonfires. It’s a season you can’t deny to be one of the best. A time where we switch out the fresh linen candles for spiced pumpkin scents, add in a few neutral canvas wall art prints to reintroduce a softer colour scheme, and thicker throws work their way back onto our sofas, making way for that cosy and warm aesthetic to return.

Shifting your home into more earthy and moody tones can be done easily. with a few of our favourite autumnal colours that are perfect for decorating your living room. They instantly give your home that comfortable fall feeling you love.

1. Pumpkin Orange

Yes, we know, it might sound a little obvious, but we can’t forget about the number one-go-to colour when thinking of Autumn – Orange. Think of those soft sunsets and pumpkin tones lightly sprinkled into your home decor. We recommend accessorising the space with orange pieces, whether through wall prints, pillows, candles or throws.

2. Brick Red

Brick red is a winning Autumnal colour and the perfect colour to warm up those cold walls in time for those brisk days – You’ll cosy up in no time. Use this rich colour tone to bring warmth and energy to your living room; if you have a fireplace in this room, brick red also works exceptionally well against this.

3. Stay Warm and Bright With Neutrals

Some may argue that beige and cream colours are there for every seasonal makeover thrown at them. To be honest, they’re right! Neutrals fit into most seasons and work well to keep spaces looking fresh, spacious and neat. When thinking of these Autumnal colours that are striking and filled with bright pigmentation, you could use your neutral tones to tie them all together without the space becoming over-cluttered with colours. It’s an excellent colour for sofas, pouffes or rugs. Let us call them the soft essentials.

4. Cocoa Brown

Brown represents the colour of leaves and flowers as they approach the end of summer and enter the season we all adore; how much earthier can this colour get? Introduce this soft and moody tone into your living room and onto your walls to create a comfortable and inviting space that amplifies that cosy factor.

5. Mustard

If the darker tones are not of interest, mustard is a great energising colour that’ll lift the mood in your living room. Pair this colour with neutral colours such as grey, beige and cream to keep that subtle but striking aesthetic. You could also consider adding another colour such as red or green to create a beautiful contrast between the two tones that shout Autumn.

Don’t forget to add your twist

When beginning your seasonal makeover, remember that you can always change it back if you’re not quite sure – Don’t fear the striking colours! Take inspiration from the ground below your feet (or trees, should I say), notice the colour of the leaves on the ground and work that scheme into your living room.
